Hashimotos Thyroditis

Most of you probably don’t know that 8 years ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Hashimotos thyroditis. (The majority of individuals diagnosed with a thyroid condition actually have Hashimotos and just don’t know it.)

This was one of the most difficult things that I had to go thru. Being bedridden and not able to take care of my children was absolutely heartbreaking for me. Not being able to fully participate in life with my husband made me feel useless. I am so grateful to have come out of that and I want to share with you what worked for me:

The Obvious:

*Change in diet

-eliminate the usual suspects sugar, gluten, caffeine, alcohol, cheese, soy

-add A LOT of greens (the easiest way to do this is thru green smoothies)

*Find a super supportive natural health practitioner that believes in you and your ability to heal

*Focus on Healing the GUT

*Natural Thyroid supplement

-Naturethroid, Armour, NP Thyroid (compared to the synthetic version ie. Synthroid, Levothyroxine)

*Rest & Sleep

*Yoga, walking and eventually running (the key is to get your heart rate up and to flood your system with oxygen)

*Eliminate stress as much as humanly possible

*Believing that you can heal

*Bodywork

-massage, acupuncture, cranial sacral, osteopathy

Less Obvious:

*Breathwork & Meditation

*Innerwork

-past healing, shadow work, empowerment work (worthiness & boundaries)

*Targeted Cleanse using Renew Life cleanse kits

*Speaking your truth

*Essential Oils & Herbal teas

*Letting go of toxic relationships

*Art

(As always, please discuss any changes you’re going to make with your healthcare provider first.)

If this is something you can relate to, I would love for you to comment and share what has worked for you or what has been your biggest struggle.

With Aloha,

Dagmara
